Csűrös Band

The ten-year-old Csűrös Banda is one of today’s most popular dance-house ensembles from Transylvania.

Its members had the privilege of being able to learn from such local legends as Sándor ”Neti” Fodor, and the Árusok and the Csipások. István ”Kiscsipás” Varga and László ”Türei” Lengyel – who have accompanied the Csűrös Banda and have been its guests on numerous occasions – have become legends themselves. Besides performing at transylvanian camps and festivities they are a constant presence at Hungarian dance houses. In 2011 the Hungarian Heritage House of Győr has released their album entitled ’Folkmusic from Kalotaszeg’ (Kalotaszegi népzene).
